Changing words for change sake is bad. However if better words can be more suitable and "old" words merely used for legacy purposes, I'm okay with it.
Point in Master/Slave to Parent/Worker. (In our case changed to Primary/Secondary)
Taking the words as is: can the slave component do some functions without the Master's permission? If the answer is No - then i think the terms can be justified.
However if the Slave has some self auto-actions, it is not a slave.
Can a worker work without a parent?
A daughter board does not work without a motherboard. If it could, it might be better named to reflect that it can self function and/or extend.

Are Excel function writers not coders/programmers?
HR, accounts, and so on.
Excel allowed for a large section of calculation functions to be shifted from a programmer, closer to the daily worker.
Just had this yesterday from an HR doing some spreadsheet, and comes over saying the first thing "I'm not a programmer, could you help with this spreadsheet i'm trying to put together?"
Look at the file, and wow, some nice calulcations. If's and stuff. That is programming. even just =C1 + C2 is programming. Drag'n'Drop or not.
But like history, programmers still needed for some more complex vb work.
Low Code and No code is another term that sounds new but its actions have been like many technical changes of the last 50 years.

GM has a 100% market share of GM products, though. And they do encourage development of third-party accessories, yet advertise their own. Sales people often, for any company, when you go to buy a competing product through them attempt to sell you their own. It's annoying, but not wrong. What Microsoft is doing is no different. They have a right to promote their own stuff. They don't prevent you from using someone else's stuff, though. Like a lot of car and other manufacturers do.

I'd use Edge if it gave me the option of doing a plain search when I right click something rather than "Ask Cortana". Turns out you can turn this off, though it still offers to "Ask Bing", not just do a damn search.
I also find in annoying that their bookmark menu icon is on the right of the toolbar.
Still, I decided to try it for today.

Follow up: I tried to use Edge all of yesterday and mostly succeeded. It isn't as bad as some claim, but neither is it better than Firefox in any way except, perhaps, rendering speed ("perhaps" since I didn't notice a difference.) Therein lies the problem--there is nothing about Edge that tempts me to switch and plenty of little UI things that I don't like. Which exposes the second problem; browsers are boring utilities, differentiated [to the user] by usability preferences.
