For myself, I'm off tomorrow to whack an elk, if I can. I have one week to locate, stalk without detection, and shoot a lady elk, for the crime of over-production. I know it seems cruel to many, but without hunters to thin out the ranks to match the available food and water, the entire herd would die. I can't allow that, so I'm going to do my very best to bring home about 500 lbs of delicious meat. If successful, that will become a year's supply of steaks, roasts, burger, and sausages; if not, it will be a memorable experience in the woods, in sub-freezing weather, with my best lady friend, Denise. We both drew tags in the lottery, against all odds; it would be very cool if we both fill our tags, and take an elk apiece home, but I think that unlikely. Just getting drawn was extremely unlikely! I'm hoping that I need to buy another freezer...

Alternatively, you could fill up the car with elk food, and help the herd survive.
Since you won't be giving me any of the meat, I'm in favour of that option. Why should I be the only one to suffer?
