I believe that the reason that this community is working well is the fact that there are some outstanding programmers that devote many hours of their day to post good quality articles and answer to questions on the message boards. This makes bad authors and bad behaviour on message boards a big problem... I have noticed, as most of you have, that some people are posting bad quality articles. Not to mention that many of them are dividing their regular size article into many "PARTS" in order to have more articles posted on here, and thats how we end up with PARTS OF ARTICLES that in some cases wont make a 800x600 resolution screen to scroll. I understand that if the article posting forms are removed some qood authors will not be able to post their quality articles. Not to metnion that Chris and all the rest of the quys will have to go through every single article and manually post them (which is a huge problem). So what I suggest? Each member could have a limit of how many articles he/she can post. Lets say 1 to start with. Then, the member should earn the right to post more articles by some or all of the following aspects: 1) good behaviour on message boards. 2) numbers of message posting. 3) article rating. ...and if you could come up with anything else... I would like to believe that this will make people to write better articles and improve their behaviour on the message boards. Should I wait for 'some new rules' to allow me to post another article of good interest?!?!?! Let the articles / submissions be there... u have the forum for the articles... if u do or dont like them, put ur comments there... Let the author come up with an updated version... Ahhh!!! I have an idea, If we find that the article is of a form, where we dont like it, we can rate that down, and this should now allow the user to post new article, unless he removes the article away or he updates the article!!! I strongly believe the rating should be the motivating factor to push the author to write better articles. Re: Some really bad articles... (that's all I have in mind, perhaps some others have a few more fields by which to sort). Wading through good and bad articles is never fun, and most often I use these to post links in the development forum to give users a list of articles about a particular topic. I do have MFC/C++ selected in my preferences. My suggestion is to be more specific regarding .NET articles. Right now I have no interest in .NET, but I do have interest in C++. Focusing the MFC/C++ comments (which, I assume, is what's triggering the .NET information) to exclude .NET stuff would increase the signal-to-noise ratio for me.
