New features for the CodeProject login

The Code Project login scripts have been extensively revamped. The main features include:

  • Your own biography that is added to the end of each article you publish on The Code Project
  • A "bookmark this page" link on each article that allows you to create your own personalised page of your favorite articles.
  • Your own signature that is added to the end of all your comment and forum postings
  • Most text boxes that ask for your name/email will be filled in automatically to save you typing
  • Your newsletter subscription can be turned on or off whenever you wish, and you can change your subscribed email and username online anytime you wish
  • Once you login you never need to login again, as your login will be stored in encrypted form in a cookie on your machine.
To use the system you need to create an online profile. If you have subscribed to the newsletter then you are already registered, and you need only click on the forgot your password? link to have your password mailed to your usual email. Once you have your password simply logon once and enjoy the ever expanding features. When you create an online profile you are also reserving your name for the discussion boards. No one else will be able to post on the boards using your name or email address, and your posts will be clearly marked as coming from a regsitered user. Please note: The online profile is meant to compliment our current service, and is not in any way designed to replace it or restrict it. It's simply a way of making life easier. If you don't wish to register your spot on CodeProject then you don't have to - the site will still work perfectly well.
