I used to do a decent amount of programming when I was in high school, nothing big, but I had some knowledge. I did a year of college, then joined active duty military for four years. Now that I'm finally out, I'm taking advantage of my veteran's school benefits (GI bill). Next semester I will start taking a Java class (It was that or VB.NET). Sad thing is that I tried my skills out to do a simple programming in Java, and completely failed at it. I wanna polish my java during X-mas break so the class is easy to get thru, that way I can use more time for other classes, math/physics.
All I want to know is if any of you knowledgeable men/women out there have any suggestions for a good book or website or anything that can help me get back on track. I'm asking for the better options out there. I really appreciate your time. Thanks.
