how to retrieve data using LINQ

I have a vb recordset with data

Date Type percentage
01/10/2008 Taxable 2
01/15/2008 Non taxabale 0
01/20/2008 Taxable 5

I want to find out on a particular date what is the tax applied on my item .For example on 01/17/2008 whats the tax applied ?
