Including a win service in ASP.Net project

Hello all,

I have a web site and to this site I need to add a windows service to do some processes periodically. Is it possible to integrate something like this?

What I am thinking is including this service within my ASP.Net project.
I will create a web page which will be working as a configuration page. From that page i will change the win service interval how often it will send emails.. etc. When changes made in this page the database will be updated. The service will read these values from the database and depending on the values it will complete the tasks or I can add entries in the Cache and set an absolute expiry date time, or set a duration after which the item is removed from the cache to schedule this web service.

Is this a good way to integrate this functionality or any other better ways to implement this? Some example links will be really helpful. Thanks a lot.
