SharpMap GIS - web application to display a marker on map

I am totally new to GIS applications. I want to create a web application that display a custom map. I have added a shp file to a SharpMap. However,pls guide me on how to display markers on map in web based on the latitude and longitude. using the SharpMap.Rendering.VectorRenderer.DrawPoint(Graphics g,sharpmap.geometrics.point,bitmapsymbo and sharpmap).I dont knw what graphics to pass in the first parameter. How do i reference the map and the symbol i want to draw. pls help.
