Digital signing using .net

Dear all,
I want to develop a C#.net application to sign a file (.txt or.html) using a certificate (.cer or.pfx) file .After signing the document I will send the document and signature to the receiver by email .Also I want to develop a verification tool at the receiver end.
Please guide me
