ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric

I m working on the asp.net website
I m taking inputs from user and inserting in database.
When i run insert query from oracle database,the record is getting inserted successfully.
But when i try to run the same query from program, i m getting error-ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric

can someone how to solve it?

The error message is clear enough in itself, atleast in unclipped version: ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected.
Can you please improve your question with the query and how you use it in your code.

Solution 1

Check your language settings; if your program uses i.e. GERMAN but the database uses AMERICA or vice versa, and you enter a numeric value with decimal places, you will receive this error
