That will depend on what kind of database it is, and what kind of connection you want.
Is it Access DB, SQL, mySQL, or XML pretending to be a database?

Do you want to bind it to controls, or access it directly?

What do you want to do with it when you are connected?

Do you want LINQ, or SQL queries?

I think you need to look at the section in your course book on "database essentials" before you go any further!
