I just downloaded and installed it yesterday. I had "The Build Tablet" running the developer preview and have been looking forward to this update for a bit. I plan to spend this next weekend running it through it's paces with VS11.
For those of you worried about the "Touch First" style of W8, don't. It's still perfectly usable with a mouse. I actually prefer not to touch the screen so as not to leave fingerprints. It takes a bit to get used to where some things have moved, but other than that it seems solid and responsive (it did in the Dev Preview, and haven't had any problems in the last 24 hours)

I can't stand when people touch my screen and leave fingerprints! If my keyboard is any indication, I have wear marks where my fingers rest. I don't want my screen wearing out by my disgusting hands touching them. Maybe I'll have to put on gloves before I use the touch screen. Then I'll just be a mechanic!

May skip this one, Windows 7 does what I want and can't justify
upgrading.
Besides I'm so broke me and my girlfriend got married for the rice.

I will never use this sorry excuse for desktop OS.
I will instead move to linux, and Win 7 and Stay away from Win 8

I feel that Metro is the new Vista.

It seems to be faster than Vista on the same hardware. I'm using it right now as my primary OS and am really looking forward to the "real" release.

So is Windows 7, which I currently have for my machine at home, and I do like it.
What do you like most about Metro, just curious?

I like the look -- it's clean, simple, and functional. It's capable of providing a reasonable amount of information at a glance. It doesn't seem to be a resource hog. Now, I'm not sure how well some apps would translate to Metro (I'm thinking of stuff like MS Office, Visual Studio, and other large, complex applications), but for a lot of the things we do, I feel like it works rather well.
Keep in mind that I've been using Windows Phone since it came out and own a Zune HD (which is Metro-styled also). But I loved the look of Windows Phone when I saw the first screenshots, long before I could get my hands on one, and got excited about Windows 8 when I saw those first shots of the new Start screen.
In the case of both WP7 and Win8, the start screen and I just get along. It was comfortable from the first time I used it. I'm not sure if I'm really conveying anything useful there, but that's it.

I like testing new things but when it comes to OSs it's a whole new picture to me.
On new OS's I don't test their new shiny shell, I test its performance, its compatibility with the stuff I use, etc...
This kind of testing requires a lot of time, and time that is actually to throw away as everything will be reinstalled once the OS final version is released.
Like I said on the subject, I have a lot of work to do so I need this time for important stuff... not necessrelly work!
So I prefer to test it on a final version where I can keep the result if I like it.
Just a final work of appreciation for those who do test early stages of products and contribute for a better end result.

Currently my experience of Metro is on the XBox and, frankly, it is awful - everything is now much harder to find to the extent that my XBox usage is now just playing games, everything else I have given up on.

What about VS2012 ?
It seems more important to me then W8..
I've installed it both on W7 and W8 (to test metro interface with C++)
.. not to mention SQL Server 2012 and W8 Server..

Microsoft Betas are bad enough - there is very, very little chance that I will install something that hasn't even got to that stage yet.
