True, but usually people don't think about things like ergonomics as "design".
But I totally agree with you.
The second part, although also true, rarely happens.
On a product, you invest money either on the juice or on the package, rarely on both.
Still, there are a few exceptions.

Their website is a cluttered mess, the only design there is "find a place to shove this in the page". (I assume the poll is about website design, not hardware/other software from the description, but it honestly isn't all that clear.)

Amazon have the Kindle, and the Fire. The Kindle certainly started something, and the later ones are nice kit (if you get get over the "black flash" when you change pages.)

But the "Google's creative logos" sounds like a direct reference to their website. Also, the Fire runs Android right? So they really can't get all the credit for that.
Honestly the question is just kind of confusing. They don't all exist in the same field for proper comparison (Intel makes processors, who cares what they look like? And if Intel qualifies, why not AMD?). The only thing they all have in common is that they all have websites, but then again what large company doesn't these days?

Other's, below, have expressed similar rebellion against being forced to either give their approval to an item the may least disapprove of, or as I did, pick none at all and thus not truly participate in the pole.

I thought of apple as there products are very good for being easy to use out of the box.
If you have friends with other "apples" you can swap data as much as you like. But then there's Itunes, so I went for Google instead.

I'd have to agree here, even Apple Fans are beginning to acknowledge this, for example: Cult of Mac[^].
Funnily, one of the comments says that an exception where skeuomorphic design is preferrable is music software that looks like a traditional mixing desk. I couldn't disagree more. No sound engineer uses a mixing desk with one finger, and that's pretty well what you're constrained to do with a mouse. Even if the software is multi-touch enabled, the knobs are too small to operate sensitively with a finger. I can't help think there's a better alternative.

Personally I find this strange. I've been using Win 8 regularly on my home PC for a while now. After an initial "where the f**k is ...?" period while I attempted to find my way around, I quickly found myself at home with the new start screen arrangement.
On top of that, performance is significantly improved. Cakewalk (makers of the Sonar music software) tested various aspects of performance for audio software, for example, and found amongst other things drastically improved disk I/O performance, less kernel calls (with associated overheads of context switching).
We all stand to benefit from the optimisations made to get all this running on a tablet.

I generally like Apple's interface designs for mobile devices, but the font smoothing on text makes it nearly unreadable on relatively lower dpi desktop screens.
On Mac OSX it's possible to disable it in some cases but not all, and when it's off the text looks ugly, uglier than unsmoothed text on Windows. It just becomes hard to read in a different way.
