Just an observation, I found it interesting that Reddit was removed from free text answers (I noticed a few 'reddits' when I originally responded to this survey.) Perhaps reddit is not considered a viable answer? Just curious...

Primarily as a consumer. Main activity is keeping up to date with music artists who increasingly prefer using these to update their fans on what is happening. Consumption is mostly via push to smartphone or Google Reader feeds rather than actively visiting the sites.

The term "social media" is being used in a wrong way here. The named sites aren't based on being social, but on being narcissistic.
The social "media" that I use is called "email". If you have to restrict it to websites, I'd push CodeProject forward. We're more of a community than the FB-crowd.

Good to have social networks, etc. to share new stuff, etc. among us developers.

Where do you "share"? Here, or on one of the mentioned websites?

"Share" process is more of a manual process in CP . You have to search and get the information people posted. Sometimes CP would mail it to you too.

Sorry everyone - I posted this and set "single choice" instead of "multiple choice". Please dive in again, if you're not already social'd out, and let's start the debate again.

Great, but you still don't have "Code Project - The Lounge, Soapbox, etc." in there. Is that because it would skew the result too much or is it just not considered a "Social Media"?
Sorry if this was already debated before all the posts were cleared.

Multiple choice is great. Code Project is missing, so I added that in others.

I thought about that, but this is not a "social website" in the same sense as the others.
If CP becomes a choice, it'd need be a different category.
