By what criterion are these the top ten? And not including VB is invalidates the poll; include as many are necessary to include VB -- top fifty if necessary.

VB is in at least the top five in our operation!

I don't see any problem.
VB isn't included because this poll is about programming languages.

Yes, but the VBers will answer "other" or whatever and mess it up. If they have their own place, we can then ignore them.

I don't think the survey is very functional, harhar.

Asking this on Code Project results in this kind of discrepancies.
Conslusion 1:
Correct me if I'm wrong but CP is mainly MS oriented.
If we go to a more Linux oriented kind of site and do this question the results will be completely different.
Sure we have agnostic content here also but the results from this poll are far from being reliable.
Conslusion 2:
Javascript is an amazing case-study.
I think shortly everyone will use Javascript on their projects wither client or server side.
Even if it's not a "main language" is amazing.
Conclusion 3:
Where are HTML, XML and SQL?
Can't believe that any of those languages are more used than these 3.
Cheers!

Everyone knows VB programmers can't read!
No, it should have been there - but you can vote for it under "other None of the above" I guess.

Oops! Should have read "None of the above"

Sorry, that is a logical fallacy, similar to saying "That dog is black, therefore all dogs are black". A single instance does not prove a conclusion.

It says why:
"These are the top 10 from last September. How do you fit the norm?"

... and I'd be willing to bet the next poll will say "these were the top 10 in January".
Unless of course the list is going to get shorter each time. "These were the top 5 in January"

I'm not a VB developer, but for sure VB should be in this poll. There are too many people doing VB/VB.NET development, not to include it.

Where's my no. 1 programming language, Visual Basic?
Yeah, I said VB, b*****s! Haters gonna hate!
I'll settle with my no. 2 then... C#.
It's an OO world.

- Nothing from Apple. I don't like to walk on a company's leash if I don't even work for them.
- Nothing from Microsoft. They try too hard to be like Apple recently and have changed their minds once too often for my taste. Perhaps I will actually get to use my code more than once when going on without their 'help'.
- No interpreters. I know better ways to waste CPU time.

Right. I now earn my money with singing on the street. You can't imagine what they pay me to stop, but recently some have tried to make me sign a paper that prevents me from ever coming back.
