... that most places I visit have their IT staff in closed rooms off the beaten office track as if they are ashamed of having them on display to the public or protecting them like their prized possessions (take your pick!).
Maybe they think that since IT staff are looking at screens all day, they don't need to see the "real" world.
On a serious note, natural lighting and outside views are a noteworthy matter for mental health in the long run.

Some funny folks had some time ago a "please feed with sweets" poster at its doors.
Press F1 for help or google it.

For most of us "older folk", we would probably need a "do not feed with sweets" poster!

It's funny that you mention natural lighting as I spent yesterday replacing 3 out of 4 fluorescent fixtures in my workshop with LEDs. It really is amazing how lighting can affect a space and those in it! One more to go and all the buzzing will be gone!

If I couldn't, I'd have fewer toes: the cat does not brook delay in opening the front door when he wants to come in, and can be rather ... um ... unsubtle in showing his displeasure.
He has a cat flap, but prefers to use that for prey delivery.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
