Hi All,
Sometimes i find while running my c# program does not run at all (when i press F5 to run)
MS has put lot of patches for .net framework, but without this !!
If anyone of you have got any method of bypassing this, let me know,
Thanks,
Siva

1. Ask C# questions in the C# forums.
2. Make sure your program is not already being debugged when you press F5. Sometimes it remains in this state even though you closed it's window.

Again, you can screw up a C/C++ program just as easily as a VB program. OK, maybe not as easily, but it's certainly doable. - Jamie Nordmeyer - 15-Nov-2002

No, he's right. I experience the same bug here. If you work a full day on a small program you'll see this happen about 5~10 times. The strange thing is that the process starts, you can see it under task manager, but it is only using 100K of memory and hangs there forever. It seems a deadlock between the IDE's debugger and the process.
You need to stop it and start again.
Ok, ok, this is not the right forum.

Doesn't it do that itself ? First F5 stops, the next starts ?

God damn you people..you never learn huh?
Well, here are the step by step instructions you absolutely _must_ follow, without questioning whether they will actually help or not. so, here goes:
1) First, try startin up with F8. Might help - judging by your english writing and _especially_ reading skills, you probably f***ed up your proggy real bad.
2) If that doesnt help, reboot.
3) If still no eternal happiness, go dig up a can of worms, buy water cooling and add worms to teh liquid nitrogen and use that mix instead of water in the cooling
4) If _still_ doesnt help, do the secret CPian dance on the next Friday 13th: :badger
Good luck and HTH.

Then what are they doing here ?
I think it's not surprising that most people go for the middle option this week. It's the sensible one - we use whatever is best for the job.

Last I checked it was up to 7!
I chose the middle option, too. Although I am always wary about using any tool (and Microsoft can be bad about this in some cases) that tries to lock you in to using their tool until the end of time. I want my freedom.

That's probably directed at people that use the Intel Compiler... or those that develop .NET software but use other tools than Visual Studio to do it... or one of the many other ways to develop Windows software without using Microsoft tools directly. They're still using Microsoft technologies, but without the tools. That's my guess anyway.

for us. The value is superb, the support great and it is not like we are settling for half assed tools. VS (6 or 7) is pretty darned good.
The only area MS are very weak in is graphic design tools, in which case Adobe or Macromedia are the ones we choose.

The MSDN pack lacks a decent reporting/print package. I find myself having to rely on Crystal Reports which is not the best designed tool in the world.
I agree about the graphic design too. Maybe Microsoft should invest some more money in the VS.NET IDE graphic designer, either that or make it easier to plug in 3rd party designers into the resource editor.
