On monday morning, the option "write articles" had nearly 20%.
During the first day it was reduced step by step, down to 19%.
Two days later it is close to the 15% mark.
I wonder where it's going to end on sunday evening.
What does that mean, are CP authors always the first to vote, do daily users (who found the poll first) write more articles, do pure readers visit CP less often?

I think that the people who write articles are addicted to CP. The first thing that they do in the morning is check CP for news and check their messages from CP.
The other users who come here fore pure reading or to their own problems, tend do visit later during the week when they encounter problems at their work. And that would be the majority of people.
I think that's the reason for your observations. (You b.t.w. must be addicted to CP also if you visit often enough to be able to make such observations...)

Well, if you want to call it addicted...
BTW we're getting closer to 15% again this morning. It seems like all authors have already voted on monday and tuesday.

The people who write an article, usually often visit CP. So they will notice the poll, and vote the "write articles"

13.54% !
"Write articles" went down from 21% (Last monday, this time) to 13.54% seven days later.
So, this is the truth about CP. A small group of active coders, and thousands of lazy visitors, who come here to download examples over the week.

Hello!,
Please be patient!!
I'm one of those lazy readers !!!
But it's mostly because I see those who write for cp are Professional:cool: but I'm NOT (yet), and that's why I'm here.
But I'm trying!Improving , found new topic and decided to write for the first time in next 2 months .
It will be better finally but it will take time.

I didn't tick that option because it's so rare for me to have the time to write one. Although I've an interesting idea buzzing around my head at the moment (we're doing lots of work on cross-version Visual Studio extensibility at the moment, and some of the things we've uncovered are rather intriguing) I'd be very surprised if it surfaces this side of Christmas.

It is quite scary really.
Maybe the real search box needs highlighting somehow, or duplication elsewhere on the homepage.

Still the same names of poor CP addicts, aka regulars.

Chris should really filter all the CListCtrl answers from the optional text answers. They are not funny anymore for a long time now!
Maybe an automated message that will be posted to the soapbox whenever a person submits CListCtrl with a subject like: A Not funny person caught!

Obviously, some guys can have fun wwith the same joke much longer than you do. Why don't you just ignore CListCtrl, if you don't like it anymore?

Well, what is so fuunny about that is we do see about 5-10 messages per month asking questions about CListCtrl - how to select items, change text, change icons, etc. So it probably is a valid response if you answer those messages or post questions or articles about CListCtrl.
Mine might have been AfxBeginThread or WaitForSingleObject

P.S. is there a ClistCtrl hiudden in the banner?

Well, a few years ago (is it really that long?) people were racing to post the first CListCtrl thread in a survey. Unfortunately, I became a member too late to see the real action, but it was still a little bit funny when I got here.
Nowdays, most people don't like it anymore and the people who do submit CListCtrl answers are not even original anymore. The thing that bothers me the most is that they don't even have the guts to post it in a new thread and get voted down...
