I enjoy answering questions online for the following reasons:
- I know what the answer is.
- Questions get asked to which I do not know the answer, but it covers a topic that I find interesting. Then I research the topic and attempt t answer the question.
- It helps me to learn and become a better developer.

I've put in my years of answering questions on various sites, boards, etc. I think I've earned my retirement.

Any particular reason why the link in your sig prompts for a userid/password combo?

I would have thought that one under the online reputation one.

That's only a useful selection if you supply the right answers.

Oooh I know that answer or how to, and then I help

That is exactly what I do, I check to see if there is anything that can be answered. Usually I go for stuff that I ran into in the past or something that interests me.

This makes me a sense of knowing the unknown things(other perspectives of Solution that we provide) and making to know others about our way of solving the problem..

No, I was merely pointing out that so many questions don't involve "the unknown".
