I didn't use Attachment instead as my programs only send byte[] or strings as email attachments. Attachment by default only allows for stream and string so I would have to encapsulate the byte[] and provide the encoding each time. More reliable to keep it as a separate object.
Yes, I could have used an extension method to add byte[] functionality to Attachment, but since this dates back a fair ways, extension methods did not exist.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
