Not a big deal, but hey..
After viewing a question that's been downvoted, the link on the main page is no longer gray, but the usual blue.
I didn't see this reported anywhere, so I thought I just wanted to inform you.

Thanks for the report. I'll add it to the bug list.

There is a 'more...' link at the end that takes you to the 'tag cloud' but initially the same "words" are displayed with again the 'more...' link at the end.
Clicking that a second time displays all the tags.
Seems a bit redundant to have to click more twice to get all the tags.
Seems it's server bound. Had it on web 21 / 24
On web 22 / 23 I get all the tags next to the list of questions (so not on the separate 'tag cloud' page)

I think I reported this already before but not sure.
I just noticed when I went to the 'unanswered questions' there was a filter in place : VB10, VB7.x, VB8.0, VB9.0, VB6, VB
I'v never set this filter not do I know where it comes from.
Usually I just get all the questions or set a filter like '.net' but never this one.

You probably clicked one of the site filters (just beneath the green menu). We're automatically saving the tag filter choice in various places throughout the site. If you clear and update it on the QA list page it will remove your preference.

I posted an answer to my own question. I inserted a frowning emoticon. The preview correctly showed the icon that represents the emoticon. When I posted the answer, it just shows the text rather than the icon.

We're currently working on a bug that should resolve that.

Look at my question here.
Revision Number Large
When I viewed the latest version, I was brought here. At the top of the page, it says "Revision 93606". I don't remember making that many changes. Should probably say "Revision 3". My guess is there is some global revision number you are incrementing... that is either a bug or useless and non-intuitive.
Some Tags Get Excluded
For tags, I typed in:
XAML, C#, "Visual Studio 2008", Refactoring
However, once I posted the question they showed up as:
C#, XAML, Studio
Then I edited the tags so they said:
C#, XAML, Visual-Studio, Refactoring
However, once I posted it, the tags said:
C#, Visual-Studio, XAML
Tag Naming Convention Ambiguous / Can't Add New Tags
When I create a new question, it says:
You can add new tags to the system. Eg. C#, "Visual Studio", SQL-Server
Should I enter tag names that contain spaces in quotes or with dashes in between them? I tried quotes and that didn't seem to work. And even though that message says I can add new tags, I am apparently unable to add a "Refactoring" tag. If some of my tags are going to be excluded from the result, a message should be shown before I post that says something like "The following tags cannot be used: Refactoring (the admins have disallowed this tag as it is too general), 'Visual Studio 2008' (you are not allowed to use quotes with tags... use dashes in place of spaces for multi-word tags). Please edit your tags before posting."
Tag Editor Buggy
The tag editor is really buggy. I was having problems across the board when attempting to type in tags. When I typed in "refactoring" and tried to change it to "Refactoring", it did something weird (overwrote the tag or pasted another tag to the end of "Refactoring"... I forget). When I type in "Visual-S" (without quotes), it pastes something like "Visual-StudioStudio" (I forget exactly, but it is premature and then pastes incorrectly). There were other oddities, but this thing really could use some more TLC from the developer that created it.
Whitespace Incorrectly Removed When Pasting
When I select the "paste as HTML" option, all leading whitespace is removed. This is not what I want, as I'm trying to paste code and the indentation is useful for the reader. I don't paste as code or text because they don't detect the language very well, so I like to type in the PRE and LANG myself.
Specs
I have Windows XP SP3 and IE8.

This is a known issue that'll be addressed.

Will add to bug list.
aspdotnetdev wrote: Tag Naming Convention Ambiguous / Can't Add New Tags
You should be able to add tags with spaces (quotes required) or hyphenated tags without quotes. If that's not the case it's a bug. I'm not sure why the refactoring tag isn't sticking. We'll look into that.
aspdotnetdev wrote: Tag Editor Buggy
We're using a jQuery auto-complete plugin that seems to have come with some quirks out-of-the-box. Perhaps upgrading to a newer version of the control would help or maybe we have to consider some alternatives. We've already made a couple tweaks to it and continuing this trend might not be the best long-term approach. I'll add a new bug entry for this.

Thanks a bunch for the detailed report. Greatly appreciated!

Can't Improve Questions
I don't see an "Improve Question" button for any questions, including for example this one. I just see:
Not sure if I just don't have the reputation to improve them or if this is a genuine bug. If I just don't have the reputation, then that extra "|" should not be shown after "Permalink".
Question Author Unknown
When I view this question, it says:

But when I view it in the recent questions list, it says it is by angeleto (you can go to that member's questions list and the question shows up there).

Sorry for the late reply.
Looks like you do have permission now to edit that question. The dangling horizontal bar (what's it called) is a bug though.
And it seems the second problem has been addressed.

Yeah, second one seems to have been addressed. And I can now see the "Improve Question" button. Though, if I didn't have permission, perhaps I would still see that dangling pipe... not sure.

Yep you would. It's in the queue.

There is a question Round Edge Button[^].
When I looked at it in the list, there is a count of 60 answers (Most Viewed[^] rank 7 at the moment).
One thing is, when I open the question, the answers count on top of the question only shows 20, the number of answers on the actual page. Wouldn't it be better, if there is always the total count of answers?
The other thing is, there are 4 pages. When there are 20 answers per page, I expected 3 pages. When looking on the 4th page, there is answer 61. The answer is deletet, but shown as answer 61, so something is wrong with the total count on the list page?

Nice catch! I'll add it to the list.

Our current implementation is a bit unintuitive. What we're trying to do is show the total number of valid answers on both the question view page and listing page. So no, it's not a bug. We also want to show that an answer by X once existed but has been deleted. I'll talk it over with the crew and see what they think.

My suggestion to this, show 2 or 3 counts, like the voting, e.g. V/T or A/V/T answers.
Where A are accepted answers, V are the valid answers and T the total answers. Deleted answers and answers by the OP are not valid, but count for the total.

|
|
|

That may not be immediately clear to users who land on this page. Actually what we decided to go forward with is to only show and count valid answers. There'll be a 'Show Deleted' button to display those answers.
