It's dongle envy that makes them buy apple.

I'll wager that like Microsoft, they think automated testing replaces human testing.

By "automated testing", do you mean "automated forced updates, so the suckers can do our testing for us"?

Microsoft CTO Kevin Scott recently gave an interview to Fortune magazine discussing about Microsoft’s future, challenges related to AI, and more. Icons!

Well, if the CTO spouts such utter drivel, you can't blame the workforce for the disaster than ms has become.

HackerRank released its 2019 Developer Skills Report, which found 68 percent of developers say nothing irks them more than being unsure of what is expected of them. And a pony
And I think we're more likely to get a pony.

It is my experience that the project teams and managers don't have the proper instruction and experience writing good user stories and/or requirements. Therefore, it is only appropriate that developers feel this way. It's a no brainer.
Also, this can be attributed to the client not being 100% sure what they want, when they want it. Which equates to extremely poor/vague requirements, etc.

Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, weighing all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

You really shouldn't expect ms to have a clue what it's doing, these days.
If you do, you'll only be disappointed.

For the type of game that Minecraft is, with the mods, etc., Java is still the perfect language for it.
I use to write mods for Minecraft, back in the day, and that was a lot of fun.

raddevus wrote: Whose side is Microsoft on, anyways? They have taken sides with cloud, and as-a-service approach. From what I can imagine, it doesn't really now. They have started to support Linux, Azure AD is on Linux VMs, open source data science tools and products, HDInsight, and Apache etc. Even on their App Service plan, they supported Linux first and then they provided Windows containers support in preview, just now.
It comes to me as a shock, that Java support is what you are worried about.
