I have two (tiny) issues with the new Start window.
First issue: I want to rearrange the options list (on the right side) to put "New Project" at the top .. and not be something I always have to scroll down to find.
Second issue. When I close a solution, most often the next thing I want to do is quit VS. But the Start Menu has reappeared and you can't click FILE: Exit without first closing that Start Menu. A little aggravation each time I'm ready to exit VS 2019.

The what? Disabling the VS Start Page is one of the first things I do after an install.
At startup: Show empty environment

Thanks for the feedback. My first post in the Lounge ... a fun place, looks like, for odd comments and quick responses!
About my second issue, on closing a solution, then quitting VS:
1) Yes, I could turn that Start window off, but I don't mind it all that much on startup (unless I am planning to open a new project ..that is Issue #1). It is when I am in shut down/exit mode, that I find it a tiny bit annoying.
2) Unfortunately, neither ALT-F4 nor CTRL-W (nor the X in the upper right corner of the VS window) will work to quit VS ... if the mouse is outside the Start Window (or dialog box, whatever). Those commands DO work ..on that Start Window and do close it .. if the mouse is moved inside of the window. That leaves VS still open and it requires repeating one of those key actions or using the FILE: Exit option to exit the whole thing.
So, my point is that it takes (at least) 2 mouse clicks (one in the Start Window, then one in VS window) to quit the application after clicking Close Solution. In olden days (VS 2017), you clicked Close Solution and then clicked Exit.

If you're going to exit VS after closing the solution, you may as well just click the X button in the title bar. One click.

Humm ... I guess we all have superstitions. If all files/work have been saved, I suppose you are right and there is no need to "close solution." I could just click the X button right there in VS to quit. But .. force of habit ... I always do save and close the solution. Then the empty VS window appears .. but with a START dialog box in the middle that has to be closed first.
Incidentally, other applications - like Quickbooks - do manage to keep the File Menu option (and the main window X box) "alive" while displaying a dialogbox of sorts where you can choose to open another company file (or quit the whole application with a single click. :-}

Well, I have finally completed my move to a brand new fresh built house. And I have a fiber to the house! My current speedtest results show 987MB Upload and 950Mb download. Seventh heaven, I never have to leave the house (except when she decides we are going out to eat/movie/bar)

Not really, at least not here. Just installed Office 2000 on a new W10 machine. Guess who jumped up to help?

Is there a beer fridge next to the desk?
If so, you only need to leave to pick up more beer.

Nope. I dislike beer intensely. I DO have Strongbow in the fridge, which is just out the door of the office.

My fiber is "only" 100 Mbps - I could have it upgraded, but I very rarely come across any server capable of utilizing the full full capacity. Most servers won't give me more than 50-70 Mbps, some are significantly below that.
How often do I have 15-20 simultaneous transfers running, each using 50-70 Mbps? Very rarely. Sometimes I have 4 or 5 transfers, filling up the pipe completely, but I never have an immediate need for all those streams; they are typically videos that I will watch later. If the transfer completes one minute later due to limited fiber capacity, it is perfectly fine with me. I do have friends who laugh: Mine is thicker than yours! - but that is all they get out of it. Their real "need" is perfectly well served at lower speeds. So I have never considered the upgrade to 1 Gbps worth the money. Mine is big enough - it is how you use it that counts.

I need to do some very low-level coding in assembler. I used to do a lot of this, but just need a bit of a refresher in syntax. Does anyone have a decent link for this?
I've been searching, and I can find the opcodes/symbols, but without the syntax. For example, what exactly is the LES format entered?
Even the Intel site doesn't seem to cover these "ancient technologies" anymore...
