Some facts...

Only 40% of the Underground is underground.
Only 10% of the Stations are South Of The River.
The Underground Station at Canary Wharf has a bigger volume than Canary Wharf.
There are 428 Escalators on the Underground system, with as many as 10 working on any given day.
11.00am on a Tuesday is the most common time for suicides.
Getting a train from Bank to Monument takes 22 minutes, but it can be walked in less than two.
Getting a train from Ruislip to West Ruislip involves a 44 mile journey taking nearly 2 hours.
Ruislip and West Ruislip stations are 200 yards from each other.
The Female Automated Voice heard at many stations is known as 'Sonia' because it 'Gets on your nerves' (Get Sonia Nerves).
St John's Wood is the only station name that does not contain any of the letters of the word 'Mackerel'.
The Shortest Journey Possible is between Covent Garden and Leicester Square. It takes 40 seconds and goes 300 yards.
(It is also one of the most commonly journeyed routes).

Here is a test for you...

What is the only Station that shares its name with one on the Parisian Metro?
What is the only Station that is named after a real Briton?
Four are named after Saints, which ones?
Five are named after Pubs, which ones?
What are the five Stations with an X?
and finally,
What is the Longest Name on the system?
