Agence France Presse, Nov. 24, 2012: authorship unattributed: "Japan 'geeks' seek love at masked match-making:" [^]"A 33-year-old man wearing the mask of a villain from a 1970s TV show hit it off with a 26-year-old woman with a Mickey Mouse face on. Both managed to keep smiling when they revealed what was under the disguise.
"My heart was beating as I was taking off the mask," said the Mickey Mouse woman.
Asked if the matchmaking would result in a real date, the man -- who gave his name as Furuta Oribe, a samurai and master of tea ceremony from the 16th century -- was a little unsure.
"I hope so, yes?" he asked, turning to his new beau.
"I was really nervous. I still cannot believe this," he said." Love ever triumphs !

Hi Brady,
Not to worry, I'm sure this first probe into geek-match costume space will go viral, and that events for geek(s) of every gender seeking geek(s) of any gender will soon follow.
But, perhaps by clicking the =>macro cosmic zoom-out icon enough times we can look across the whole planet, we can ask the question: isn't human (primate) sexuality, expressed in our internal sense of self's "gestalt" (foreground perception) of our body's location on a continuum of gender identities ... expressed in gender preference in sexual partner(s), intimate behavior, short- and long-term bonding ... one of the most complex masks we wear ?
And, a mask that does change, even though for most(?) people the fiction the mask doesn't change ... ever ... at all ... is a reliable self-evident truth. Others enjoy changing masks, without altering biological endowment at all; and, for some, a radical mask switch can be so demanded by the dissonance between psychic gender and physical sexual form, that surgery and hormones are needed to re-cycle the old chassis, so a new mask of the yearned-for gender can be worn permanently.
But, who am I to ponder how many roads intersect at such complex intersections of genetics, environment, testosterone, estrogen, child-rearing, socialization after childhood, and cultural context ?
Could we ask, even, if the personas of Lounge high-frequency posters are: masks ?
