On Youtube, sometimes you can see drunk people who have to walk in a straight line under police supervision, to see if they are sober or drunk. (mostly in the US)

What´s up with that? If you can walk straight you are sober enough to drive?
Here we have an alcohol tester which measures the amount of alcohol in your breathblood. That way people who don´t appear to be drunk are caught as well.

So I´m curious to what end you would want drunk people to walk in a straight line. ('cause I´m sure the testers exist in US as well) Or is it just for mere fun Poke tongue | ;-P ?
