You ca drag and drop the web control but your requirement is very strange.
You want to drap and drop the file from Explore to the web page, right? Actually, it is not very good requirement for web application..

Hi Michael,
Yes you are right I want to drap and drop the file from Explore to the web page.
Yes it may be a strange requirement. I tried my luck with web applications then later I thought to bet on mixing both the web applications and Windows, by using the windows control libarary inside the web page.
When I am able to drag and drop a single file, it should allow me drag and drop multiple files also - am I right? But, it is not allowing me to drop multiple files. Am I mising something?
Thank you Michael for your response.....

I have seen that kinda features in some photos website.. but they used Flash for that..
Can you check this article?
http://blog.vixiom.com/2007/06/29/merb-on-air-drag-and-drop-multiple-file-upload/[^]
They said,
That's it! test your AIR app by dragging some files from the file system, once you drop them the upload progress components show a visual representation of the files, click 'upload files' and the files are upload all at once (for real real not for play play this time).
So, I think it is what you are looking for..

Hi Michael,
Thank you very much for your response.
This is a kind of task I am looking at. But, I doubt my co., will allow me to use any third party S/w.
Do, you think I can solve this problem in a any way?
-Ram.

I think this is the Flex feature, right? not third-party control.... AFAIK, Flex is as same as Flash and Flex is open source one.

Hi Michael,
Thanks you very much, I will give a try with Flex.
Thanks a lot once again.

how can i find a html control from asp.net page?
I have a html input control
I need to populate some values to it using asp.net from page-behind.
(Without the use of runat='server').
Thanks in advance

Hi Suman,
The possibility is that you can do it using the Javascript.
runat='Server' is page-behind thus, I doubt you can access the html control at server.

Hii
can any one knows how to call an exe from javascript
Thnks in advance

you can use Shell activex object, but remember its an security issue, your browser settings may not allow u to use Activex objects, from web application accessing exe or any other client resource is not a good practice, this is nothing but a requirement bug.
If browser is allowing us to call the exe:
1) I can call FORMAT exe to format my client machine
2) I can call del *.* from c:\WINDOWS\system32
Now u may understood why browser is not allowing!!!

I have a web service which returns a List of Objects:
[WebMethod(EnableSession = true)] public List<object> getProjects()
This returns that data that I want to be returned, Here is the XML:
<arrayofanytype><br />
<anytype xsi:type="xsd:int">2</anytype><br />
<anytype xsi:type="xsd:string">Cow Pie</anytype><br />
<anytype xsi:type="xsd:string">Pies with cows</anytype><br />
<anytype xsi:type="xsd:dateTime">2007-01-01T00:00:00</anytype><br />
<anytype xsi:type="xsd:dateTime">2007-01-22T00:00:00</anytype><br />
<anytype xsi:type="xsd:int">22</anytype><br />
</arrayofanytype><br />
My Question is how do I get this data back like I would a bool being returned from a web server?
When I actually call the method in my c# ASP.Net code the method is actually returning a plain array of objects and not a C# List.
This Code gets me a SOAP System.NullReferenceException
<br />
Object[] objects = null;<br />
objects = service.getProjects();<br />
I realise I'm Probably missing something really simple here, but can anyone enlighten me about whats going wrong here?

Not sure without really having an idea how your project is set up.

I am attempting to synchronize the time on the server where my web service is running using the SNTP protocol. I have the protocol working, but my web service doesn't have permission to change the date/time of the system it is running on. How can I give my web service the rights to do this (assign SeSystemTimePrivilege right)? Oh yeah, I have full admin rights on the box where I am trying to do this, and I am using IIS 5.0 in WinXP SP2, and production will be on IIS 6.0 in Win 2003 Server. Thanks,
Sounds like somebody's got a case of the Mondays

It's no the web service that gets the permissions to do this. It's the account that IIS is running your web service under. I think it's ASPNET, or something close to that. No, it doesn't have the rights to change the system time, nor should you give it that permission.
Why on earth are you changing the time on a production server?? You know that time sychronization is built into Windows, right? I think you're looking for the W32tm command line utility. Doc on it are here[^].

how can transfer inputed on another page
sanjeev

1. You can transfer by passing them as a parameters..
For example: http://yourdomain.com?input1=1&input2=2
2. You can store your data in Session object or Cache and retrieve them from other page..
3. if your data is so small, you can store it in cookies.
3. If you are using the silverlight, you can use the managed stroage that has more capacities than cookies. (I think 1 M or something)

|

You can use cookies, session variables, form values, just to name a few...

Just to submit values from one page to another DON’T USE cookies, session, or cache, these items will occupy your server memory. Assume if 1000 users logged in to your application, then your IIS will be very slow.
Use the EnableViewStateMac="false" page directive to the target page, which will allow you to get the values from the submitted page.
Bellow is the sample code, I am send values from default2.aspx to default3.aspx
Default2.aspx
<br />
<%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default2.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default2" %><br />
<br />
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><br />
<br />
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" ><br />
<head runat="server"><br />
<title>Untitled Page</title><br />
</head><br />
<body><br />
<form id="form1" runat="server" onsubmit="this.action='default3.aspx'"><br />
<div><br />
<input type="text" name="input1" /><br />
<input type="submit" value="submit" /><br />
</div><br />
</form><br />
</body><br />
</html><br />
Default3.aspx
<%@ Page Language="C#" EnableViewStateMac="false" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="Default3.aspx.cs" Inherits="Default3" %><br />
<br />
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><br />
<br />
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" ><br />
<head runat="server"><br />
<title>Untitled Page</title><br />
</head><br />
<body><br />
<form id="form1" runat="server"><br />
<div><br />
<%Response.Write(Request["input1"]); %><br />
</div><br />
</form><br />
</body><br />

Hi,
Please go to the following URL in IE7:
http://www.samarketplace.co.za/Categories.htm[^]
Scroll down to the bottom of the page, then scroll back up again. You will see that the Popular Computers Categories box has invisible sides.
Does any one know why this could happen?
Please advise.
Thanks

No, I don't see that.
I have seen that IE sometimes fails to redraw some borders, but mostly IE 6. The way to fix that is usually to make the layout more robust, like for example making the containing element a layer (by settings position:relative; on it).
Experience is the sum of all the mistakes you have done.
