Ok just to clarify from above(and make sure i got it in my head right):
//Save data(which would go under whatver i deced would be the Save control/command)
Properties.Settings.Default.textbox1.Text = textbox1.Text (and repeat this for each control)
Properties.Setting.Default.Save();
//Load(which would go under my "Load" control/command
...
textbox1.Text = Properties.Settings.Default.textbox1.Text
(repeated for each control)
(Applogies for repeating what you said like to make sure i understand things correctly)

All you need is to open www.google.com[^] and there sure you can find what are you looking for.

This is his third general question about connections. He doesn't understand Google. Don't waste your time.

You dont understand the word "Beginner", "Freshman", "just out of high school"
Why would you post a reply with a subject that says "CP IGNORE", Isnt it enough that you voted that guy down?
ah anyways...

Isn't it enough that he can't do basic research himself or buy a book?

If books and research are enough then why do you think this forum exist. This is not IEEE organization where only advanced scholars post rsearch and thesis.Now, in this case , its a simple question, but what increased my blood pressure is you posting a CP ignore message ! And you are a very well respected member of CP.

My concern is that he is asking the basics of questions, "How do I connect...?" A few tutorials should at least be read, then at least TRY coding it. Then if he got stuck I would have no problem helping.

Unfortunately there are a lot of people who just post absolute beginner stuff without doing any kind of research themselves, like we can just somehow magically make them understand everything. I mean honestly, the time it takes to wait for a reply from someone on a forum is probably a lot longer than it would take to figure it out on your own.

Is it possible to increase or decrease the brightness of a display (digital display connected via DVI) using API calls ?
If so, does someone have an example of the API usage? I imagine it's part of the DirectX API's.... which I've never used before.
Thankyou very much for any help.

I know NVidia has software that automatically does all that for you, so it is quite possible .
How - I don't know.

this.presetTableAdapter.ExistPreset(txtToolNumber.Text);
I am trying to access a single value from a dataset, this is how i am calling it, how can i access the value from that dataset? It either outputs a 1 or a 0, pretty straight forward right?

ExistPreset doesn't seem to be framework's method. If this is true, what's the implementation?

Ok. In your post you don't assign the return value to any variable. Is this only missing from the post?
You could use following steps to find out the problem
- execute the procedure directly against the databse in Query window, see that it works
- check the properties of the TableAdapter, everything as it should be
- debug through ExistPreset-method and observe the values in variables, everything as it should be
- use plain SqlCommand to execute the procedure and see what it returns
