It struck me today that I have been working for myself for the best part of this year, and haven't gave the government any of my money! I'm guessing I need to do that soon or they will send me to jail or something 
Anybody (in the UK) got any advice? Recomendations for applications to work it out etc? I have brought a tonne of tech (computers, phones, tablets etc) to do my job which I understand is tax deductible. I work from home a lot too so maybe the electric/broadband is deductible also?
I'm crawling Google now to learn what I need to do but thought I would ask on here also as I might get some good advice from fellow freelancers

Go see an accountant. I did, and was surprised how much they were able to help - it literally put thousands in my pocket.
They know the rules inside out. Is it worth your time to become an expert in this area?
Plus, their fees are tax deductible.
