Was just attempting to help with approving some articles and the first one I chose contained plagiarism from wikipedia without any citation and was basically just a cobbled together thing to insure the person was published? However, it really didn't explain the technology.
What is the point of this? Do people think there is some kind of fame or fortune which comes from publishing on CodeProject?

It seems to be a status thing. There are a certain type of people who think that people (potential employers perhaps?) will be impressed by quantity of articles published, rather than quality. There's a reason we have a moderation queue. Unfortunately, the employees of one company in particular seem to be really prolific in trying to publish plagiarised articles.

I'm just guessing - but it's an educated guess - that the "author" works for a company called Mindfire in India.
Apparently, the company doesn't pay extra to people who get something, anything, published - but you wouldn't believe that if you saw the level of submissions from that company in the last couple of weeks. Plagiarism is the norm, combined with an obvious lack of any understanding of the subject matter. There's been quite a few references to the company in "Spam and Abuse" recently and I think and number of accounts have been closed already.

This is really embarassing for the company as well as the people doing good. Scrutinization has been started and seminars would also be conducted by Tadit regarding how and what material should be posted in this forum.

It looks like an orchestrated campaign to "get the company name noticed" - and if so, it has worked beyond somebodies wildest dreams. Just not in the direction they hoped...
It's a problem, I suspect: it's very difficult to get a good reputation, but a bad one can follow you for years...and be created in an instant (or a couple of weeks in this case).
