In my dark past I tested MonoDevelop/Xamarin Studio and occasionally reported some bugs (if you can now work with Git in Xamarin Studio, blame that on me!)...
One of my reports about automatic event-handler generation (twice) in GTK+ projects was examined (and then buried) by the one and only Miguel de Icaza - that happened in May 2012...In March 2015 (now with Xamarin Studio) I was still able to reproduce the problem...(Yest - that's 3 years)
Today! I've got a confirmation, that the bug indeed exists...
I've spotted it in version 2.8 and now it is 5.10...and almost 4 years...
So what I have learned from it? No-one ever creates a GTK+ project...

One wonders what the usage of the term "buried" referred to here. Does it mean "ignored," or "covertly deleted," or "rejected" ... blamed on GTK+ ?

Leaving for Germany tomorrow (first a wedding then business with a supplier). Some colleagues want to take a quick side trip (2 hours by car) to Amsterdam on Friday evening.
I'm in no need of pot or a prostitute.
Can anyone offer a couple highlights that might make the 4 hour round trip worth it for me?

But seriously, being a Dutchie myself, who rarely visits Amsterdam, I'd say go for The Rijksmuseum[^] and make a boat trip on the canals. Maybe you can visit the Anne Frank house[^] too.

As a tourist myself, I can agree with Sander. However I would rate Anne franks place lowest unless you are interested in the history.

Indeed. I was in Amsterdam during the hey-days of 1972 - a most auspicious time, indeed, complete with backpack and ISSTA card ('The' international student travel association of the time).
To this day, I remember the museum trips (and the Heineken Factory tour). There was an exhibit called "The Beanery[^]" - I'll never forget. In moments I was immersed.
I'm not sure if it is enough to just call it "Art".

The town itself with the canals and atmosphere I'd say.
But if you're not after anything specific I'd rather stay in Germany since there's just as much to see there aswell.
Where will you be staying?

Itterbeck is for German standards in the middle of nowhere.
I asked my wife, who has a German degree in Tourism, and considering the time of the year she recommended to go to the Christmas market in Münster. Which is half the distance compared to Amsterdam.
When in Nuremberg you also have a Christmas market, but you're also just half an hour away from Bamberg, a very picturesque and well preserved medieval town known as the brewery capital of Germany.
Last I checked they had twelwe breweries, several of them in the town center and some of them also do tours.

I don't recommend it, unless you want to practice opening the way as an american football player.
It usually is so overcrowd that you barely can walk. Besides (in my opinion) Nurnberg downtown is not so pretty, there are a couple of highlights but I would not extra travel there, another thing is if you are already in the region.
