Nope. It's English English. Both forms are used in UK but these days usually 'disc' applies to records of the vinyl type and CDs after 'disco' from 'discotheque' which is, of course a French word. The 'disc' spelling is one of the many Romanticisms (that's Romance languages, principally French, not hugs and kisses) undertaken by dictionary writers and grammarians of the 18th and 19th Centuries based mostly in Edinburgh so technically it's Franco-Scottish English. Those of us who would quite like it if English was returned to its true Saxon roots will always prefer 'disk' at all times.

All of which forms an interesting sidebar but the fact is that UK IT people tend to adopt terminology from US standards so, just as we program computers but programme TV and create dialogs in VS while engaging in dialogues with our colleagues, a hard disk in UK has always been a hard disk, irrespective of what spelling we may use for other disks.
