If I search for "hard disk" if have only two German results on the first page (Wikipedia and a price comparison portal) because I have configured Google to use German and English as preferred languages.

But ask some dictionaries:

Nope. It's English English. Both forms are used in UK but these days usually 'disc' applies to records of the vinyl type and CDs after 'disco' from 'discotheque' which is, of course a French word.
