(I've only been setting them off for twenty years - my right shoulder is held together with lots of surgical steel - but my young brother got his first hip replacement when he as twelve after he fell out of a tree. He landed on his head, bounced, and smashed his hip to pieces on the rebound we keep telling him.)
Glad to hear you are heading for "out of pain" in all four joints! Arthritis, I assume? Herself is waiting to go on the waiting list for an appointment to arrange a place on the waiting list to see a consultant to discuss the possibility of going on the waiting list for a hip op ... which will be canceled on the day due to "pressure on the NHS". 
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

15 days till my Missus is in to get the right hip replaced. At 50 I think she is too young but if it shuts her up so I can sleep at night I'll be thankful.

Where exactly are they fitting this new hip?
Anyway with you getting bits done, either she's jealous... or are you in some sort of body upgrade club?
BTW: If a woman (wives in particular) wants to talk she'll find something to say, but even more a way to say it despite impediments (and reason.)

I had a knee reconstruction >25 years ago but as of yet haven't had to have anything replaced.

I found the hip replacements to be almost instant relief. I was standing with full weight bearing on my new hip within 10 hours of surgery with no pain. Amazing!

Yeah, Rheumatoid arthritis. Both hips and both knees were totally shot. I walked like an 80 year old.

Then you seem lucky, it took my wife more than 6 months to recover from a knee replacement.
I have to mention that she has rheumatism which complicates things, it also made recovery very painful.

Everything depends on degree of recovery. I'm certainly not back to 100% and don't expect to be for months to come. But it's already better than before the surgery!
With any luck I'll be back to work after only 3 weeks. Not that I really want to get back to the grind but I'm using accrued PTO for all this and I'd rather save it for something enjoyable.

Maybe a tip: we found that biking was easier than walking.
We bought two electric folding-bikes which did fit in the boot of our car and enjoyed cruising the country a lot.
But this is from a Dutch perspective of course, we have lots of cycle paths over here

One of my good friends is a much more macho dude than you. He had both knees replaced at the same time, then 3 months later, had both ankles replaced. He's now up and around, but says walking up stairs is still difficult.

I asked about it but my surgeon won't do it - says it increases the odds of infection. Now that I'm 2 weeks post-surgery I'm glad I didn't. I can't imagine doing PT on both knees at the same time.

Hill Air Force base has a pretty good museum. It's a 30-40 minute drive (north) from SLC. Sometimes, the Mormon Church Museum (in downtown) has interesting exhibits. If you have kids, there is the Living Planet Aquarium in Draper, about 20 minutes south of downtown SLC. (Also for kids, going another 10 minutes south, there are Museum of Natural Curiosity and, next to, a Natural History museum.)
Judas Priest is at the Vivint Arena on the 13th.
Not a beer fan, but Uinta Brewing Company made great sandwiches.
Another favorite lunch before moving were calzones at the Rusted Sun Pizzaria.
You could go to Pioneer Park and buy some drugs. Or, if you have several days, drive up to Yellowstone Park--it's only a five hour drive.
