I thought the main purpose of the confirmbuttonexteneder is for client side questions and post back.. can't you just use javascript to check the datetime before showing the ConfirmButtondialog?

It is and it was to ask the question "Was the time selection intentional?", yu see this is for an online scheduler for conferences and if the end time is before the start time the conference goes into the next day.
Anyway, this is now working and a closed case.

and
cache.add("key",value,...);

Hi findtango,
If you access the cache via the indexer, i.e.,
1. Cache["Key"] = value;
a. the value remains in the cache indefinitely.
Instead while you are using
2. cache.add():
a. It will accept some more parameters for expiration and all
b. Also, calling the Add method returns an object that represents the cached item.
If the key already exists in the Cache the method will fail.

I think you can do it in Database by making query,
like in sqlserver
IF EXISTS(SELECT Id FROM user WHERE username = @username)
Duplicate
else
No Duplicate

I am using a crystal report developed separately with crystal report developer ie BI.
I am going to use that report for my application.
i have loaded that report in the report document and i have set the same to the crystal report viewer.
but my concern here is while developing the report i have used a database and a server.
but while using the application the server and the database may come dynamically , i have used the ReportDoc.SetDatabaseLogon() but its of no use its asking me the same database which i used while developing the report,
how to change the same..

Hi,
I have two buttons(BUTTON1,BUTTON2) and one object tag to display the video. Now when i click BUTTON1 i want to update the video. So <object> tag should be effected. But when i click BUTTON2, it should not effect the video. Here i used the update panel to achieve this.

In the above code i specified that - object tag(VIDEO) should be effected when we click on Button1 only. But it is blinking when we click on Button2 also. How can we prevent the blinking or refresh of the video when we click on Button2? Can anybody help us? Thanks in advance.

where is your '</asp:updatepanel>' closing tag ?
The controls which needs to show the ajax effect, which should be
placed inside the updatepanel. others are exclude from the update
panel. second thing, you just replace Eventname='click' to 'Button1_click'
please try it....

Hi,
How to get the visitor's actual IP address.
I have tried all the possible solution like HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR"],
UserHostAddress, Remote_ADDR etc etc. But all are returning the same IP that is I think proxy ip.
If we are behind the firewall/proxy then is there any way to get the local IP of the system like 100.100.100.27.
Please confirm.

You don't. Thats exactly the purpose of proxy's.

The below given code gives you the IP address of the User Accessing the site:
HttpContext.Current.Request.UserHostAddress;
OR
HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["REMOTE_ADDR"];
To get the IP address of the machine and not the proxy use the following code:
HttpContext.Current.Request.ServerVariables["HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR"];

I have some controls that I want displayed if a manager see the form but not when non managers view the form.
How can I either make a complete row be invisible or generate the the row with the control on it when the manager is logged in? (yes I know if a manager has logged in or not) Please show sample code.
My preference is to have the row appear to not exist when non-manager is viewing the form with no blank space.
Then when a manager is viewing it would look like the manager row has been inserted into the proper place with all other rows being pushed down, so it appears that the row was always there.

Hi Everybody,
I have developed a WCF Web Service using http and c# in VS 2008. But I needed to copy the application in to another folder in the machine. Then the .sln and .csproj files both were missing.
By searching on the machine I could able to get the .sln file. But .csproj file is still missing. I am unable to open the proejct.
Can anybody suggest me how to get it. And are there any settings avaible in VS 2008 IDE to give the current path as the path for these files.
Any link or blog is also very welcoming.
