In addition to IFrame, look at inc. These are text files that may or may not include HTML mark up and inserted into the page using the old #insert directive.
Various manuals at my company are available this way. Each section exists as a separate formatted text file with an .inc extension. The user can retrieve single sections and the text is embedded in the page. The user can also retrieve the entire manual, which includes every section. With this technique, there is a single source for the text (which eliminates discrepancies where one page was changed an another was not), it can be reused in a variety of situations, and the use of simple mark up rather than full HTML means that managing the texts can be done by the doc writers and not IT.

hey, cant find how to solve this thing,
i have a test project with the following directory structure:
/root/pages/default.aspx
/root/App_LocalResources/default.aspx.resx

using the following simple code:

at the resx file i have simple mapping for Label1.Text ,
The problem: for ssome reason ASP.NET can't find local resources when my default page is not at the root folder in the project,
when i place the default.aspx in the root project the localization works, when i place the default.aspx inside a folder it doesnt work
i have been searching everywhere and couldnt find how to make it work when using folders.
any kind of help would help!

The App_LocalResources folder needs to be in same folder as the aspx file.
/root/pages/App_LocalResources/Default.aspx.resx
/root/pages/Default.aspx

Actually i got one problem with javascript in button click event.
i have one Datalist control. In that Datalist control i have one Linkbutton. I am trying to find the ID of Link button ID through Javascript.
But it is giving error here
"obj.substring(0, 60);"
--Object does not support this property";

you are trying to use substring() method with an object, so it wont work .this function work with strings. make the changes accordingly

As per your query , you have problem in the above line.
What you have written is bound to get an error like that. Because, "obj" is a reference to a control. And as control does not have substring method in javascript you get this error. You should call obj.innerText or obj.value which ever is applicable in your case( depending upon what the control is rendered in your browser for your code) then call the substring method.

Hi im using ajax modal popupextender.. panel consisting of a captcha image,textbox and a button control.. How can i display error message in modal popup itself. if the condition is false i.e, if textbox value doesnt match with captcha...

Have a label to show the error message.Initially hide it, and show the when there is an error..

there must be postback on button click,after postback the modelpop will hide.Do one thing ,Attach a clientside event, validate the request if there is an error, show from javascript itself. and if there is no error continue with postback.

You can also solve this "issue" by calling the Show Method of the extender again within you button click-event (when you're also setting your error-message). This prevents the modal-popup from hiding.
Example:

On a button click i'm opening a page with showModalDialog,
depending on the value returned from modal dialog,
i want to clear contents of asp.net controls.
These controls are read only controls.
But i'm unable to clear the controls.
