WHAT "sheet control"?? There's nothing in the standard toolbox that even comes close to what those words suggest.
Any why on this earth are you using VB6 in this day and age??

I don't know about the OP, but in my house, sheet control is when there is fight over who gets all the blankets. But that's not a VB issue.

I have an application that needs to be basically a shortcut launcher.
It goes to a shared directory and pulls the file information/icon for all files in the directory. I'm able to get this to display properly in ListView, but I need to be able to double click on the output that is shown in the listview and have it launch the appropriate link (these are all .lnk files).
I'm assuming this is some sort of doubleclick event along with the process.start command but I can't seem to come up with a solution.
This is the code for populating the listview, but what I need is help with the code to make each item double-clickable to launch the links.
In my application I have the form1, lisview1, and imagelist1.

Thank you for the link, and I think that may work for me. I'm not real familiar with VS as I've only had an introductory course on it and that was quite some time ago--so please excuse my ignorance.
I did have one problem with the code provided in the link you supplied:

I get an error stating 'ListItem' is not defined.
Is there a way to resolve that...or what is causing that?

I resolved this after staying up way too late last night using the following. If anyone is interested I can share further details. But it included adding an additional column (not visible in the large icon view I'm using) and replacing some of the listview_load code above with this:

Glad you got it. When I leave for work, I pretty much detach from electronics, so I didn't see your message until this morning. The link that I sent was specific to VB6, but the ideas were the same. In .NET, they decided to call it ListViewItem instead of ListItem.
You don't actually need to cycle through all of the items, though, to find the selected item. You can just do ListView1.SelectedItems(0). As long as the ListView's multi-select is set to False, you won't get more than one selected item.

Yeah, it's writing a proxy server that the browser uses to get all of the URLs requested. Since the proxy does the actual work of requesting the page from the server, it also gets all the responses from the server and forwards them to the browser.
Basically, you need Sockets experience, writing a TCP/IP listener service and HTTP requests.

I am working on a pocket pc application by using vb.net 2005.
I have 2 questions about the datagrid and datatable.
1. What I want is that when the datagrid is populated then application should check the datagrid first cell value and if it is null then it should change the backcolor of that row to Red.
2. I am creating a datatable on form load event and the adding rows by executing the sql statement by using datareader. Now I want to add a tablestyle to that datagrid and want to set the width of the datagrid columns.
Simple is that how I can set a datagrid table style while setting the datasource to datatable?

You should be asking this in the Mobile Development forum since the .NET CF Framework is a smaller subset of the full .NET Framework. It doesn't matter which language you're using, the limitations of the CF Framework change how the code is written.

Hi all,
I'm trying to allow the user to store an article in a table where the article body can take ANY number of parts each displayed as a separate page on a webpage.
I thought I would store the entire article in the Article table but separated by a delimiter like, the only problem is, after I store the record, how would I go ahead a retrieve the data IN PARTS so that it can be displayed in a repeater?

Hi,
I would not do that. I suggest you store the smallest part you're interested in as one item, then build larger stuff from multiple items. This is similar to storing first name and last name separately, it gives easy access to both of them, and when you need both together, you can easily combine them.
So create two tables:
table "article" holds overall information on an article (ID, title, author, date, ...);
table "page" holds the content of one page, the page number, and the article ID.

Thanks for the reply. Let me just make things clear.
1 - I will store the small details in the Article table.
2 - I will store the parts of the articles as separate records in a "Parts" table.
3 - Each part will have an article ID.
4 - I will call details FROM article table AND parts table WHERE ID is the one clicked on by the user
One last problem: Due to the user being able to store ANY number of parts PER article, how do I connect each part to a repeater? I would like the repeater to do "Paging" on each part. Is that possible?

Yes, store each part/page of an article with its part/page number and with the one article ID so it points into the right row of your articles table.
I don't know about the Repeater Control, I've never used any, I haven't done any ASP.NET
However I trust it can be done, in fact I expect it to be pretty simple.
