Hi, is anyone familiar with RLC? Is it possible to write a prog to compress RAW file using RLC then link it up with a mainframe menu button? Pls help!!

Link it so that when I click the menu button which I name it as RLC a dialog box will pop up and I am able to choose the RAW file to be compress using RLC. Thks.

I have a group box in a CDialog. The group box is just box
with text in the upper left corner. Looks like:

How can I make the text in the group box bold or a different color
or something different? Do any classes exist for that resource?

You'd need to make the control owner drawn to do this, then you'd be responsible for doing it yourself.

I don't really have a good answer. Group box are special button that don't process messages. You can't send messages to them, according to the MSDN and Spy++ reports that no messages come in or go out. You could get away with making a group box with no caption and then placing a static control over the group box. You can use WM_SETFONT for the static without any problems.

Hi,
I have a dialog based application. The main dialog has a menu. This dialog creates a modal dialog. How can I access the menu of the main dialog from the modal one?
The program I'm working on runs in the system tray. It is used to shutdown, restart, logoff etc. The purpose of the modal dialog is to let me change what the default operation should be when I double click the icon in the system tray. As far as I know, the default menu item will be executed on the double click. Is that correct?

Standard list box allows 32,767 items under Windows 95, 98 and ME and 2,147,483,647 items under Windows NT4, 2000, XP. The reason is that LB_GETTEXT uses a WPARAM for the index, which is 16-bit on 95/98/ME and 32-bit on NT4/2000/XP.

Take a look at _fstat, or for an MFC version, use CFile::GetStatus

I created a metafile that creates a bitmap file and saves it to disk. A regular program like MSPaint has no problem opening the file. However, when i try to display the bitmap i created in my own program, it simply won't display it. I have (with an amount of certainty) determined that this is due to the fact that the metafile does not actually save it in bitmap format. It also saves it with a transparent background even though I call SetBkMode and SetBkColor functions. I hope this makes sense.

What format is it saving it in then ? If MSPaint can read it, it must be a bitmap, gif or jpg, mustn't it ?

thats the funny part. i can save it with any extension and it will still open in MSPAINT.

The file extension is irrelevant, MSPaint works it out by looking at the file. SO... what are you saving it as ?
