Hi All,
I am developing windows based application using c#.net. My problem is i want to show thousands of company names in a control like combobox. But is there any other control in windows based application to show thousands of company names in that control and also searching of perticular company name should also be easy. Please help me.

may I suggest you'e got your design wrong?
Showing thousands of items, in any control, is extremely flawed. The more items you are showing the less useful the control will be.
Have a think about what you want to achieve.
Does the user have tyo find an unknown item? If so, a search facility would be of more use.
Is the 1000's reduced by the context of the rest of the form? If so, use the rest of the data to drive the content of the list; combo or otherwise.
If you use any well designed interface, online or offline, you will see it reduces the ability of the user to make mistakes. By giving a huge fat list of every item in your database you are inviting the user to pick the wrong item.

Dear All,
I'm Using AT commands and C# to send SMS using a GSM Modem.
I want to try to set the "Sender's Name" to be displayed to the receiver instead of displaying the telephone number.
Can this be done by passing some parameters in the AT commands?

I think that that would be managed by the recipients cell phone to check the number based off entires in the phone book.

actually i dont want to spoof, i just want to display a name which i hardcode in my application in their inbox. If they use the reply feature it should reply to the actual sender number.

Again, no. That number would have to be saved in the recipients phone book, you cannot assign a name to it. Sorry.

Sometimes you can receive an SMS which has a sender's name set, even if it's not in your phone book.
Orange in the UK do this with most of their service info messages

In the US/ Canada I've never seen this before, ever. And I get a fairly decent amount of spam SMS on my phone, all from +333000 or something similar, never from an actual name, unless it is stored in my phone book.

Is it just their service messages that do that? If so they could be cheating and build the directory entries into their firmware.

Coming out off a dialog box, that's a new one.
As to your question:
you can't avoid it the whole idea behind the vista security model is not to run anything without the permission/knowledge off the user.
Why is your service running an exe, this is very bad. A service can run without any user logged in, if that service then calls an exe you'll get all sorts of strange behavior.
If all your service does is run this exe a better choice would be the scheduled tasks, or just put a shortcut on the desktop and let the user start it up.
This will however not avoid the dialog box.

Hi,
How can I trim the following to get the result please?
string s = " 12345 - 54321"
RESULT:
should show
s = "12345-54321"
It seems s.Trim() only trims the outside of the string and not within.
Any thoughts please?
