A label is limited to using a single font to display it's text. That means one color, one font-family, one style. There are some custom components on the internet that can display RTF, or you can use the RichTextBox itself to display it.

Hi.

I'm using SetupDiGetClassDevs [^]function in my App.
This is my snippet code , but it's wrong

let me know is it possible to lock Netwok Connections And My Network Places as soon i start the system.if user try to to click on these .....it should not open ...until i give password or permission to it

Using VB.Net Windows Application.
Task: As soon As I run My Exe in registry or start Up ....It Should Not allow the user to enter in to the MY Network PLaces and Network Connections of Control PAnel. once user provided with credentials then they are allowed to access those Network Connections and My Network Places......
Just I want to restrict on those icons Directories not on individual Internet Connection or Wlan Connection ....just lock those things(MyNetworkPlaces, NetworkConnections) as soon as i start my System

plz let me know in what manner i have to proceed....
i tried but unable to do it......

Wouldn't it be easier to do this from the policy? For each user, you would take away the privileges for those actions (and any other actions you see fit).

Also, please type "please" and not "plz". txtspeak is so very insulting.

Task:
As soon as i start my exe it should restrict the user on clicking it...
like if user clicks ..it should ask for password or else it should not allow to move further...

Are you talking about your own application or other Windows governed applications? If its your own then you can certainly code whatever you want in there but if its the other, I don't think it would be feasible (not impossible, just sufficiently difficult and lengthy to make it not worth while)( because you would be dealing the underlying windows API.

You might, if you enjoy headaches, try to do this through windows hooks : http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc188966.aspx[^]

The point is to stop unwanted access, correct? Then its much easier (a few simple clicks) to do that through group/user policy.

Actually sir,
i want to make a service to install in interested user's system.
AS they start their Pc my sevice should restrict them from opening MyNetworkPlaces and Network Connections ....Once they provide with the correct credentials they are allowed to access those...
Please Help me in..how to proceed or any suggestions to do further and to do R&D

Why do you need to do this? You keep repeating your question, but you haven't stated why you want to do this - not what, why - and you haven't stated why the group policy isn't the best way to do this.

Local Group Policy Objects Cannot Be Set on a Per-User Basis.
Just am asking is it possible to hide or lock the folder.
If so....in what manner?

here is a trick, hide the Network Place and disable the connection(for better security) and when user submit the appropriate info...Enable/Show everything you hide.

Hello All,

I have a question relating to testing methods in classes within the 3 tier architecture (ie Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer, UI);
I am not asking for the complete solution here, but how can one go about testing the methods, values in both the BL and DA layer without using the User interface or the database. This is how my teacher wants me to do it, yet I have tried to a find a solution without avail unless I not include sql code in the database.
I have looked at NUnit Testing, although I believe that requires a dummy database to test it.
How can one go about doing this?

Your teacher "wants" - have you asked how he would do this? That's why he got that "teacher" title, isn't it?

I suggest that you write small "assert"-methods that do the testing, without using an external framework to do the heavy-lifting. Each test-framework has a learning curve, and it shouldn't be too hard to write a small method called "testFoo" that returns a true on success and a false on fail.

Start of with a small method that tests whether all properties from your DAL are correctly persisted and can be re-created without errors. Once that is done, move up to the BL. Check out what each method/rule is supposed to do, and write a small test to verify that it actually does that.

I have never tested a UI with automated testing. I just grab the first breathing person and put him/her behind the form that I drawed and take notes on their reactions Smile | :)

Note:
This might not be the ideal course of action, but it's a start. Since we're on a forum, I expect that you'll get more (and better) answers Smile | :)

I have been reading up on the assertions, although how do you just run it when it is in a class alone. ie would you need to do it so you have the console.write(test) active?

Use Ctrl+Left/Right to switch messages, Ctrl+Up/Down to switch threads, Ctrl+Shift+Left/Right to switch pages.
