Well, the good thing is that with XAML in one pane and design in another and other docked dialogs you can't see anything anyways. 
Not to mention the invisible controls (boundaries are hidden), which is a really nifty f...f..f...feature.

But yeah, if that's a permanent limitation or just them only releasing the beta version on a single platform where its open issues won't affect many people now but with the intent of extending it to the rest of mainstream workloads is a question they really should've answered.

I'm currently taking bets on whether we'll get Visual Studio support for XAML 2009 before 2019; or before WPF is forcibly retired, whichever is sooner.

In WPF, you can use XAML 2009 features, but only for XAML that is not WPF markup-compiled.
Markup-compiled XAML and the BAML form of XAML do not currently support the XAML 2009 language keywords and features.

It does sound like someone applied a simple convolution neural net on a non-optimal process and pushed it to lower class of people in the media. Still -- I am studying everything AI, data science, block-chain, and IoT these days. I missed all the earlier IT hypes because I was too smart to jump on the fools train.
