Sure, why not? What's the worst that can happen? Data loss, embarrassment, theft. Sure, according to Google, only 0.001% of apps downloaded by Android users pose any harm to their devices or data. So, it's like a nice easy game of Russian Roulette.

And across the void, a million thumbs cry out. I'm assuming that this story ends with someone buying them and pushing that keyboard onto something. Then again, I've heard a similar story in the past: hot keyboard phone company bought by someone. Kin. Whatever happened to them?

Yes, we *totally* needed a fifth smart phone OS. (there's supposed to be some sarcasm mark here). Still, it might be interesting to see if it has a chance - it's open source (Linux-based and HTML5 everywhere), so the phone companies might be interested.

Seems like a kind of cool way of plopping a "Cloud" back end into a system, plus the source is available. You get pub/sub, authentication, and notifications in one swell foop. The only problem (IMO) is that you need to use the Google AppEngine as part of the back end.
