It's going great! On one side I have the Guru Tom and on the other I have Mister .NET. I feel same as what someone'd feel if he was asked to write a program for DOS 2.0 sitting between Bill Gates and Paul Allen.

I'm not a teetotaler; I just *rarely* drink. Counting through the number of drinks I had, I come up with 4; half of those was while I was underage
Holidays are coming up in the next few months, so that'll probably double the count.

Well you are still young. Up until my 18th birthday I had maybe drunk 5 beers at most. But from that fateful day and onwards I gave up counting. The reason? I became a waiter at a bar and any money you made was spent the same night you made it at the club down the road. Ahh those were unforgetable times.. actually I can hardly remember any of it, but they were unforgetable nonetheless
Now funnily enough I have maybe two brandys a week and thats it (unless there is a special occasion.)

It does not really matter as the results are interesting enough, but I am just curious as to how much of this survey is dictated directly by advertisers? Or did CP look at what kind of questions advertisers often ask about the demographics and compile from that?
I think one interesting side affect of this being advertiser driven is the salary question. I had to choose the second lowest option as I had to convert to USD. Yet I earn a rather good salary in SA terms (I am in the second highest tax bracket.)
I would be interested in a "Compared to industry standards in your country, do you earn above or below the standard for your position?" (not that this question would help advertisers who are selling in USD of course. )

The questions are generic and are based on what we (CodeProject) are interested in, what we think you guys will be interested in, and what we know advertisers will want to see when looking to make decisions.
Some of the questions are definitely aimed at finding out what you are interested in so we can concentrate on those advertisers who would interest you, but they aren't dictated (or requested) by advertisers. Over the year I take note of the sorts of questions advertisers ask when deciding whether or note to grace our pages and then around the middle of each year I'll put them all together and get another snapshot.
Actually it would be interesting to see who can guess which questions are for advertising, which are for CodeProject's Secret Plans, and which are for everyone's amusement.
cheers,

I find this survey very useful. Good job Chris!
However, at the question regarding educations. I think you should add the student option there, because if you are a student in the 3rd year (out of 5) then your level of education is higher than a high-school degree but lower university degree. Just a thougt.
Best regards,

Nope, probably more like the rich ones are in the Bahamas right now enjoying the good life rather than filling in a survey
And if you think I am being nasty... well what are you going to do when you make it big? Stay in your job and surf CP all the time?
