Database Connection

The first thing you must do when you create a report is to set the database
connection string.

You can set the database connection string in the
Database Connection Dialog.

The database connection string provides the link from EasiReports to your
database.

It tells EasiReports what kind of database you are using, where to find it,
and other information such as your login name and password.

The easiest way to set your connection, is with the
Data Link Dialog.

NOTE: Use the "Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider" provider for Access
databases.

You can set the connection string manually if you know the settings.

This is an example connection string for an Access database :

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;
Data Source=C:\Data\Northwind.mdb;

And this is an example for a SQL Server database :

Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;
Initial Catalog=Northwind;
Data Source=<ServerName>;
Integrated Security=SSPI;

I have been writing software professionally in C# ever since
In real life, I have spent 3 years travelling abroad,
I have held a UK Private Pilots Licence for 20 years,

I now live near idyllic Bournemouth in England.
I can work 'virtually' anywhere!
