Are you trying to do a mass mailing or just open and edit a document or both? If it is just to open and edit try http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa767731(v=vs.85).aspx

I searched and found several people with the same problem, but could find no solutions. Any ideas?

Set the inner exception to while in the dll and got this:
This CaptureBuffer wasn't created using DSBCAPS_CTRLPOSITIONNOTIFY flag

The error was the exact same on the inner that I wrote. That is why I wasn't sure if I wrote it write or not. I updated the code with the inner that I wrote. I also added one to the CaptureBuffer, but still get the same message.

Not sure if that is the right way to write the inner exception or not, but I get the same response.

Trying to write an inner exception now, never done that so it might be a while. I will post the response once I have it done. Thanks for the insight on an inner exception. I am very new to all of this and love it, but times like these it gets a little frustrating and I appreciate any and all help.

This what I get from the other computers I have tried it on. I ran the same msi file on the computer I have the VS2008 on and it ran fine, as well as in the IDE itself. The statement that I typed in above is what is thrown from the try catch statment.

I actually took that out of the code trying to fix this problem and forgot to add it back in. The problem was there with the line of code in there.

Catch statement then,
Error in the application. at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectSound.CaptureBuffer..ctor(CaptureBufferDescription desc, Capture parent)
at WaveRecorder.SoundCapture..ctor(Int32samplingRate)
at SpellingNee.AddQuizForm.setSound()

The errors lines are shown in the code and commented out. One is where the call is made to the SoundCapture() in the program and the other is in the dll at the cptrBffr = new CaptureBuffer(cpturBffrDesc, cptur);

The lines with the comments show where the error is caught.

Has nothing to do with typing, you need to read all of the posts as well. It has to do with letter recognition when announced by the audio file. I am not writing a typing program. SAK, I understand everyone has bad days and don't worry about your posts. I take them with a grain of salt and learn from those willing to teach. I had specific images with each button on the screen, which is why there were so many buttons and not an array. I re-named the images for the buttons to correspond with the letters so that I could pull them in at the same time that I created the buttons in the array. I did not think about this before (lack of experience, again just learning) and all of the images are attached and the buttons are now generated using an array and disbursed on the screen evenly. I appreciate all comments good and bad, I learn from each so please do not worry yourself about the posts. Again the program has an audio file that is generated randomly and the kids have to click the button on the screen that corresponds with the letter announced and then keep track of the number of correct answers. We have a pre-school in our small town that can use this to teach the kids three and under letter recognition and have fun at the same time. Again to everyone I thank you for all of your help!

Not to learn how to type. It was for children 3 and under to learn how to recognize letters on the monitor and click on each one when the audio comes up to get get a score after ten iterations. LanFanNinja was of the greatest help and set me in the right direction and everything is up and running! Thanks for your help though.

Thank you Naerling! My problem is that I have 26 buttons representing the alphabet for kids 3 and under to use the mouse to click on when prompted by the audio for a letter. This is not a keyboard event, so the only input I need to wait for is when they click on a button. Can I write a for statement that generates the audio with a pause for user input (buttons on the screen) using interop?

I created a CASE statement that has the random letters assigned and want to wait until the user clicks on one of 26 buttons on the form to then move on to the next case. Should I be doing this in another way?

SAKryukov,
How then should I write the buttons? Make an array that creates them? I have images that go on each button as well. Like I said I am new and will take any and all advice.
Thanks, Jim

I have the relation set up, but how do I check for the existence and if not there then assign the new ID? I have two arrays set up one for the actorID (int) and another for the actor names (string) and want to check the text input to see if it exists and assign that ID number to the video table if not add a new record to the actor table and assign that ID to the video table.

Thanks Christian, I have that and am looking to assign the ID from the actor table to the video table or add a new actor and assign that ID to the video table for four different actors per video.
