No, the one I solved was different, initially when the datatable is loaded, if I click on the edit button, the modal displays with the row record populated on the modal input fields, at this point, the insert and update modal works perfectly fine, this was the one I solve. I have another button for insert, and I am using ajax for the insert and edit, I wanted to able insert, update and display the new record in real time without having to refresh the page to see the new changes, I was able to achieve this, the issue I am having is that, after that first insert or update is done, I rebound the datatable using ajax so that the new inserted or updated record should reflect on the datatable immediately. It is after this first insert or update has been done, that if I clicked on the edit button that the modal will display with empty fields. I have tried to resolve this, but I couldn't get it to work.

I have a datatable edit button for each row, I want if I click on the edit button, a modal show with the corresponding row record for edit, the way it works now, the modal will display quite well if I click on the edit button, but I have not been able to populate the modal text fields with the corresponding row record for edit. The DLLs are there, i added it myself, it is shown as corrupt whenever i clean the project, so i have stopped cleaning project for now, i dont know what effect that will have on the application. I also realize that the project was created using Iron speed 8.0.2 tool with visual studio 2010, now i am running the project on visual studio 2013, i dont also know whether that could cause this. @Samuel Christison, it is a bit difficult to explain more than this, i have screen captured my solution explorer with the marked corrupt files in bin folder, just that i do not know how to attach an image here. I am using Godaddy.com to host the applications, right clicking on the application folders only give browser context menu, i mean there is no option like convert to application!

okay, this was the issue: DataGridViewCheckBoxCell cell = row.Cells["IsChecked"] as DataGridViewCheckBoxCell; when using the cell variable in the if statement(if ( cell.Value == cell.TrueValue )) it always skipped the lines of code inside inside it while stepping through, i.e. the line of code under it will not be executed. if i remove the if statement it works fine, but i need the if statement to be able to check for the checked rows only. I can only find ResetLocation, can i rename ResetHeaderCheckBoxLocation to ResetLocation? also the GetDataSource() method is not include in this example, though i would write mine later on, i would have love to test it with the one that came with this tutorial, Is there anyway i can get that too? Thanks Arut, i have gone through the post on that link, from what i am getting the mail wont be sent to recipient mailbox, but kept in the IIS in c directory, and can only send to one address per time. i needed to send to recipient's inbox and can also specify comma delimited list of email addresses.

I couldnt retrieve associated attributes with product_id 7, just stepped through it, the variable xeProduct7 contains only this: <Product_id>7</Product_id>, i thought it will populate product_name and product_price on product_id 7.

Not error message, it went into an endless loop, but if i step through it, i could see the result set for each dataid in the ds and datasource.

The parameter value for @DataID is being supplied from a list, so each of the dataid supplied will return a result set, i am not sure select distinct will solve the problem, Please i will like to try your second option if you would explain it better.

please can you show how, i know how to pass parameter to normal field name in a table, but passing parameter to database, that i haven't done before, or is it going to be called the same way?

it returns data while testing on my computer, but doesnt return data if i deploy the application to another computer.

that is deploying the application to another computer it doesn't show the report, i am not sure where the error is coming from, i pasted the code so that others who may want to see the code i am using can have a look at it. The report works fine on my computer.
