Both SQL2000 and SQL2008 are running on the same server and have the exact same database. When we want to insert data, SQL2008 shows much slower performance. This observation was noticed in our production facility.
I'm currently trying to simulate the same scenario on a local server here with 2GB of RAMs. I have both SQL2000 and SQL2005 installed on the same server and having the exact database. Queries on SQL2005 are also slower than those running on SQL2000. (im working with sql2005 rather than 2008 locally because it also showed slower performance in the production facility compared to 2000, and because i dont have 2008 available).
I havent configured memory allocation so its safe to presume that it is dynamic.

Is there at least a way to differentiate them? I read somewhere that we can set the prechar or postchar value of each reader. But I couldnt figure out how to.

It didnt show the file and where the exception was thrown/processed. I didnt post it cause it didnt think they were of any relavence. Here is the line at which the error is raised
protected override void SetupUI() {
picLogo.Image = Resources.cards; }
It was catched programmatically using c#. And yes it was debug build

These parameters are correct and are compatible with the machine im trying to run my application on. Below is the exception i was able to catch, if it's not comprehensible enough thanks for trying.
System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid.

Well the thing is that the code compiles with no error. When I build it on XP and run it on XP it works smoothly. And when I build the solution on Windows 7 and run it on windows 7 it works fine also. However if I build it on windows 7 and run it on windows xp, the above mentioned error occurs.

The answer worked. However I am only able to decrypt .asc files (ASCII armored files). PGP desktop(versions 9.0 and above)don't produce asc files anymore, they can only create PGP files. Is there any workaround to this problem?

Well the encrypted files will be sent to our clients who in turn will decrypt them using their keys. Thats why we're using PGP.
As for the sample code... the entire code didnt compile. I added all the references given with the source code, however it didnt help.

I want to see if the generated numbers are predictable in any way, or if they are subject to any pattern.

I dont think you understood what I meant here. I dont want to zip the content of an entire forlder. I want to be able to zip the folder itself.
The Method zip.AddFile() can only take files.

Yes it's an excellent class, thank you.
However it can't zip an entire folder by it self. This class requires to select files that are to be zipped rather than folders.

The User I'm trying to impersonate is on a PC which is part of a workgroup(not domain) connected to my domain. Does what you've said above apply to this scenario as well?

Thank you for your input, however i dont want to involve any file association with my application.

I want to load the application by clicking [OpenWith] on a certain XML file and selecting my application.
How can I use or pass parameters in such a scenario?

The application is working with significant improvement. Thank You!!
Just one error, the cells in the excel sheet are showing "System.String[,]" instead of the expected values. Any clue why?
