Well, I don't think the solution work. Even if I placed my own app_offline.htm larger than 512kb into projects directory, it didn't moved to target server directory while using automatic deployment through Build->Publish Web Site in VS2008. It copied its own default app_offline file. Despite the fact even if it copy custom app_offline.htm I don't think it will be deleted after deployment is finished as it is done with default app_offline.htm. Anyone had luck with it?
