select function in the socket programing in c

I create a program for TCP connection between the client and the server...

But I want to use the select function in that...

I refer the MSDN website..

I get what is function of the select statement..
I read the syntax.
I can't understand what is the input parameter and the output parameters..

Please can you give small coding?

Please, I need it in the Windows platform.

Why not edit your question, and give us the link to teh page you mean? that way, we all know we are talking about the same thing.
At the same time, post a relevant fragment of yoiur code so we can see how far you have got, and not cover just stuff you have got working already?
