adding data into sql server from an excel sheet

Hello friends ,
I am working on a .net project . where i need to add data to a sql server table from an excel sheet , that user will upload using file uploader control.In that excel sheet there is dropdownlists also .
my problem is i don't know how to done it using file uploader and i have no idea how to handle drodownlist of excel sheet.Can you guys please help me .Thanks in advance friends.

these examples are taking a fix excel sheet but i want that user will upload their excel sheet using fileuploader control ,and then we save it in our sql server table .And second thing is in my excel sheet their are drop down lists .so how can we handle them using .net
