error in asp.net application

hi all,

i have created application and i host it into IIS server,

and it was working fine when i host,
but now the same application when i access its showing

error that

Server Error in '/'Application
'ROOT ELEMENT IS MISSING'

i don't know how to solve this.
your help may be greatful to me

Solution 1

Please make sure That 'Web.UI' Folder from 'PrecompileWeb' is not missing.
OR UR Given Path is Correct.

Before you host it, set the start up page and start up project.

Solution 2

"machine.config" file located in (C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG), is corrupted. There may be only null entries. The solution that I found is to substitute this file for "machine.config.default" file, located on the same path.
